The republishing of The Writing on the Wall was funded via a Kickstarter campaign, which exceeded it’s original goal of £6500, and went on to raise £11,265.
The campaign was organised by George Stewart-Lockhart, a writer and curator from London. After hearing about the book through his friend Graham ‘Paris’ Dews, he got in contact with Roger Perry’s widow, Kate, to get permission to re-print the book. The intervening eight months were spent researching the book and tracking down the people responsible for writing the graffiti in the first place. His findings have been condensed into an extensive foreword for the new edition. The campaign was launched in September 2014 and received an unprecedented response, leading to a number of features in high profile publications.
